Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku (often shortened to 'Project SEKAI') is a rhythm game developed for iOS and Android. It is made in collaboration with SEGA, Craft Egg, and Crypton Future Media, developed by Colorful Palette.

STORY -
It is set in Shibuya, Tokyo, a city where young people gather and sub-culture centered on music thrives. We follow the POV of a young girl, Hoshino Ichika. After observing her surroundings she notices a huge LCD screen displaying Hatsune Miku, a virtual popstar.
"She's amazing... Miku... She can do anything."
After returning home she notices an untitled song on her phone. After pressing play she is surrounded by a bright white light, with Miku standing in front of her and reaching out.
"Welcome to Sekai! Let us sing together!"
SYSTEM -
Players can switch from Sekai to the real world with the "untitled" songs. Sekai is portayed as an enigmatic alternate world where various "true feelings" are projected. It's form changes depending on the persons unfeigned emotions. "Untitled" songs play a key role in leading someone to their Sekai. At first is a song with no melody, no lyrics, completely barren, but when a person discovers their "true feelings" then those feelings unfold into a titled song that they perform with their Virtual Singers and friends. "Virtual Singers" (AKA Vocaloids) are essentially like guides for Sekais and appearances differ based on the persons emotions and personality.
LEO/NEED -
Leo/Need is a band comprised of female childhood friends. Their relationship became tense and uneasy after a certain incident in middle school, but through the help of Sekai they are working on working through their differences.
Their Sekai is a school classroom with sun rays shining in.
Ichika Hoshino - 星乃一歌

Ever since she was a child, she has always found comfot in Miku's music. Ichika would often sing Miku's songs while playing on the guitar she got from her father. Although she seems closed off and stoic at first, she's very kind and always keeps her friends in mind. According to Honami, she has trouble communicating well. She dislikes loud places in general, and will try to avoid them (i.e Wonderland x Showtimes Sekai. unless Saki goes with her.)
Saki Tenma - 天馬咲希

Saki was born with a weak body. Because of her weak body, she could not attend middle school. Her older brother, Tsukasa, took care of her during that time. However, she became healthy enough to attend high school. Despite her struggles she's a happy go lucky girl and her biggest wish is for her friends to come together again. She loves theme parks and their attractions, and often drags her friends and brother to Wonderland x Showtimes Sekai.
Honami Mochizuki - 望月穂波

Honami is a soft-spoken and sweet individual. She's skilled in many areas like athletics and intelligence, and is enrolled in honors classes. She is very caring for her friends, although she gets easily flustered when expressing it. Her kindness is said to "wrap around people" and is very charistmatic. Even though she is popular for her positive attitude, she often feels estranged and a bit awkward around the other band members.

Shiho is a very introverted individual and avoids interacting with others. She tends to immerse herself in her interests to avoid the outside world and doesn't care what others think about it. Despite all this, she cherishes her past memories with her friends deeply and cares for them. She is avoidant of most of the people in her life, including her older sister. She says it's because she "gets on her nerves" due to her trying to get Shiho to talk to her friends again.

Their Sekai is a stage illuminated by glowsticks.

Minori is a hardworking and ambitious girl, and it shows. Minori had auditioned to be an idol several times before and failed everytime- yet never gave up. She was inspired to become an idol after discovering ASRUN, and is a big fan of Haruka Kiritani. She has trouble staying calm at times but is very reliable and will always be there for her friends. Since all the other girls in the group have experience in the idol field, Minori looks up to all them as role models and is always learning something new from them.

Although she was originally a popular and widely loved, she says that "Being an idol is not all it's cracked up to be..." implying that her experience as a popular idol was stressful and not all fun. Airi describes her as cheeky but weak. Haruka views Airi as underappreciated in the idol scene, and thinks she's very admirable. Although Minori is a big fan of Haruka, she thinks it's a bit awkward at times.

Airi used to be a very popular idol that appeared on many platforms and shows. Due to vague circumstances she left her idol agency and retired. Minori describes her as strict, but reliable. She finds a lot of joy in helping Minori, and they both thrive off each others hype.

VIVID BAD SQUAD -
Vivid BAD SQUAD is a unit comprised of street musicians. Kohane walked in on a music session between An and her other band members. Kohane is captivated by their music and lifestyle, deciding to become a street musician with them.
Their sekai is an alleyway decorated with graffiti and posters.

Prior to joining Vivid BAD SQUAD Kohane is a very timid and diffident girl who dislikes being in public. After joining Vivid BAD SQUAD, Kohane becomes more open and confident in herself. Her communication has since improved with the help of the band, but more importantly through the help of a close friend, An Shiraishi. Kohane is very kind and although she doesn't express it, she owes a lot to the band and how much they've helped her. She enjoys making and listening to high tempo music.

Her and Akito have a friendly rivalry, and often clash until someone has to break them apart.

Underneath everything, Akito is a very caring and supportive person towards his friends and sister. He sees Kohane as a newbie and is unsure if she knows what she's getting into, but supports her through and through. He's very understanding towards Touya and his sister, and is always there for them if they need anything.

Touya is a silent and calm, but strong minded. He has trouble communicating with people other than his best friend, Akito. His father raised him with high expectations, incorporating classical into his life heavily. He has a extraordinary sense of music due to this, but doesn't put it to use. He's grown to detest his father, turning to street music to rebel against him. He finds solidarity with Kohane, due to their communication problems, and they've grown to be very good friends. He views all the band members as good friends, and owes them a lot.
